Next Exhibition: In Honour of The Late James Nicholas "Afraid of What I Could Become"
Submissions

The selection process is by ongoing submissions presented by artists, curators or groups. Some exhibitions such as the youth projects, Annual Members Exhibition and special projects (curated) are initiated by the Gallery. Selection for all exhibitions except the youth initiatives are done by a programming committee made up of Board members, artist members and the Gallery Director. Exhibitions are selected according to the strength of the artistic merit, relevance to the broader understanding of contemporary Aboriginal art and financial viability (if any extraordinary expenditures are required). We programme a wide variety of contemporary artistic practice including two and three dimensional works, media/new media, performance based art and web/internet art. Priorities constitute programming artists whose work hinges on experimentation in form and content. This will include artists at all levels of professional practise, whose work shows a high degree of aesthetic maturity and rigour. All artists are paid according to the CARFAC recommended fee schedule.
