Christi Belcourt
Off the Map:  Perspectives of Land, Water and Metis People
January 18 - March 1, 2008

Christi Belcourt is a self-taught Métis artist who lives and works in Whitefish Falls, Ontario.  "Off The Map:  Perspectives of Land, Water and Métis People" brings together two series of paintings that address issues of Métis culture and environmental concerns.  Drawing from the philosophical view of her studies on nature and the traditions of Métis floral beadwork, Belcourt's work is strongly tied to her Métis ancestry.
